Canadian Solidarity Association Ratifies Support for Cuba.

CUBA, February 16th, 2011.- Representatives of the Canada-Cuba Friendship Association in Vancouver have restated their support of the Cuban Revolution.

The group, headed by Nazir Rizvi, traveled to Cuba to carry out a special program to celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary, one of the first such groups set up in the world.

Rizvi, who is a member of Canada’s Communist Party, said to be proud of the solidarity work his group carried out through these past 50 years in conjunction with the Cuban Friendship Institute.

Over these years, the Canada-Cuba Friendship Association has been spreading the achievements of the Cuban Revolution, supporting Cuba’s struggle against the US blockade, and more recently, advocating for the release of the Five Cuban antiterrorists fighters incarcerated in the United States since 1998 for monitoring anti-Cuban groups.
