Cuba, Malaysia Confirm Good State of Bilateral Relations.
CUBA, April 26, 2011.- The good state of bilateral relations between Cuba and Malaysia was appreciated during a rally in solidarity with the Caribbean nation held on Monday in the city of Malaca, with the participation of the highest authorities of the homonymous Malaysian state.
According to the website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry (www.cubaminrex.cu), the Head of the Government of Malaca, Dato Seri Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustan, praised Cuba’s achievements in biotechnology and medicine, as he mentioned these as potential areas for cooperation.
The Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Carlos Amores, expressed his gratitude and thanked the city —a World Heritage Site— for the opening there of a gallery for the promotion of Cuban culture four years ago.
Prensa Latina news agency reports that the gallery was inaugurated in January with an exhibition of paintings by 40 Cuban artists. The occasion was part of Malaysia’s activities to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution led by Fidel Castro Ruz. (Cubaminrex-AIN)
