"I saw the Cuban aircraft fall in flames and that is why today I am confirming my solidarity with Cuba and the Cuban Five."
BARBADOS. MAY 8, 2011. Victor "Tulla" Lewis, a prominent Barbadian drummer expressed this in the context of a working meeting of the Cuba solidarity movement in Barbados on the occasion of the preparation of the Barbadian delegation to the Youth Encounter of Solidarity with the Five to be held in Cuba in June.
"Tulla", told how being a boy in the morning of October 6, 1976 he saw the aircraft fall near the Paradise Hotel, where he played. I saw it in flames and as we knew it was a ship full of young Cuban.
"That image stayed with me forever, that image also accompanied me when I visited Cuba for the first time in 2006 and I attended training at the Higher Institute of Art as part of the solidarity that the Cubans scattered around the world."
"My history, my country and Cuba are together, so I put my art in the service of the struggle to Free the Cuban Five. Cuba can count on me forever. "
