Russian Students Present Papers on Playa Giron.

RUSSIA, April 5, 2011.- Students of the Moscow’s Pedagogical University presented more than a dozen papers on the victory of Playa Giron, where the United States endured its first defeat in Latin America.

During the presentation by second and third-year students of the faculty of history in that institute, the Secretary of Culture of the Cuban embassy, Marta Carrera, explained the significance of the defeat of the Cuban mercenaries backed up by the CIA.

Dr. Vladimir Borodaev stated that the victory in Playa Giron dealt a blow to the theory of geographic fatalism for Latin America.

On the other hand, several students of the same faculty who were just 16 years, referred to details of the planning by the Central Intelligence Agency for the invasion against the island in April 1961. (Cubaminrex-Prensa Latina)
