Active Solidarity-with-Cuba Network in Germany.

CUBA, February 2nd, 2011.- delegation of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), headed by Holmedo Perez, attended the 17th General Assembly of the Solidarity-with-Cuba Network in Germany, held in the city of Essen.

Cuban Ambassador to Berlin, Raul Becerra, and other officials from the island’s diplomatic mission also attended the meeting, which took place at the office of the German Communist Party and had the battle for the release of the five Cuban antiterrorist heroes incarcerated in the United States among its priorities.

The Network’s leadership presented a political report with the results of its work and its objectives, mainly aimed at promoting the battle for the release of these patriots, unfairly incarcerated since 1998. The text points out that they will continue demanding the end of the criminal US blockade of the island and strengthening the work in social networks and actions to unmask the current policy of the US government towards Cuba.

The closing speech was made by Raul Becerra, who thanked the German people for its solidarity towards the island and referred to the role played by the Network to counteract the campaigns against the Revolution. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
