Spanish and Jamaican People Express Solidarity with Cuba.
CUBA, April 12th, 2011.- Actions in solidarity with Cuba were held over the week end in Spain and Jamaica.
Members of the Communist Party of Spain sent a message to Cuba saluting the celebration later this month of the 6th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party.
The members of the Spanish political organization expressed their conviction that the meeting to take place in Havana this week-end will serve to set the grounds to continue building Socialism in Cuba.
The message, signed by secretary general José Luis Centella, commends the discussion meetings held prior to the Congress in particular those related with the analysis of the Guidelines for the Social and Economic Policy in which everyone had the opportunity to have their say.
Far from Spain, in Jamaica, a festival of friendship with Cuba took place in the primary school Duhaney Park, in which children’s performances were dedicated to the Cuban people.
An exhibition of the culture and traditions of both countries also opened in the school dedicated to the friendship between both nations.
The display included teaching aids created by young Jamaicans with the help of Cuban teachers.
School principal Lidia Richards praised the collaboration of Cuban teachers and noted that they have been able to achieve positive results in the teaching of Spanish language. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
