Terrorist policy from the U.S. against Cuba have no end in sight
CUBA, September 24, 2010.- The statements made by Francisco Chávez Abarca about the destabilisation plans against Venezuela, reveal the continuation of terrorist actions against the island and open new questions about the complicity between the CIA, the CANF, Posada Carriles and anti-Cuban congressmen.
Coincident with the news that Luis Posada Carriles and several anti-Cuban organizations based in the U.S. intend to continue the violent actions against Cuba, was captured on July 1st in Venezuela the international terrorist Francisco Antonio Chavez Abarca, a major link in the Central-American terrorist chain, used by the before mentioned organizations and the notorious criminal in violent actions against Cuba.
Posada Carriles, a fugitive from Venezuelan justice, is still active, designing anti-Cuban operations inside and outside U.S. territory.
Cuba has seen for more than five decades how the United States gives safe shelter to notorious terrorists.
"Guest of honor" to the 2010 Annual Congress of the terrorist organization Alpha 66, Posada proposed resuming violent and paramilitary actions against Cuba. The leaders of the organization ratified 'terrorism' as its essential method to terminate the Cuban Revolution. They agreed to acquire new vessels, explosives, machine guns, etc. to land in Cuba or attack our coastlines. A few days later was attacked with explosive projectiles the Cuban Ambassador's residence in Venezuela.
Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, sponsor of military aggression against Cuba, the assassination of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, the kidnapping of Elian Gonzalez or the implementation of hunger strikes as a fighting method of mercenaries, re-launched in late May 2010 the terrorist organization "La Rosa Blanca", created by his father a few days after the Triumph of the Revolution, responsible for the burning of schools, houses of farmers, cane fields and textile mills, which left many injured and maimed, and huge economic damage.
His colleague, the Rep. Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen responsible for the release of Orlando Bosch, intellectual co-author along with Posada Carriles of the bombing of a Cuban airliner that killed 73 people. "I approve the possibility of seeing someone assassinate Fidel Castro," said Ros to the BBC in 2006, while sitting quietly in her office in Washington.
It is no surprise that the infamous Cuban American National Foundation (CANF), a longtime sponsor of the most diverse terrorist connections working against Cuba, funds the provocative actions of the so called "Ladies in White."
If terrorism is "so yesterday", what was the purpose of Chávez Abarca’s trip to Venezuela?
The detainee acknowledged the destabilization operations he would carry out in that sister nation, with the purpose of attacking leaders of the Bolivarian government and affect its image in the electoral process of September 26th. He revealed that among the current plans of Posada Carriles stands the intention of sinking oil tankers travelling from Venezuela to Havana. He added that the CANF spent almost $ 100 million in anti-Venezuelan plans, because they consider that South American country as the "financial pillar" of Cuba, Ecuador, Bolivia and Guatemala.
He stated that in late September 2005 was planned the assassination of President Hugo Chávez, for which Posada recommended a 50 caliber Barret rifle.
In the process of investigation, the detainee has admitted that he was recruited as a mercenary, trained personally by Posada Carriles, who gave him first hand instructions and a payment of US $2,000 for each bomb that exploded in Cuba. He added that Posada used to brag about his association with the CIA.
Chávez Abarca planted bombs in the nightclub Aché and the 15th floor of the Meliá Cohiba Hotel on 12 and 30 April 1997 respectively, and one in the Commodore Hotel, where an International Junior Chess Tournament was underway, attended by more than 40 children. Several children were on the verge of dying when playing with the bag where the explosive device was disguised.
The bomb detected May Day’s Eve 1997 on the 15th floor of the Meliá Cohiba Hotel contained a kilo and a half of military plastic explosive C-4, of great power that can destroy buildings, bridges and boats.
Posada Carriles' terrorist network and CANF introduced in the country in that period more than 30 explosive devices (18 in less than a year), 11 exploded in different tourist facilities, causing the death of the Italian tourist Fabio Di Celmo, several wounded and copious material damage.
On 16 and 17 June 1998 discussions were held with a delegation from the FBI that visited Havana. About a dozen folders, hundreds of pages of irrefutable evidence, recounted in countless hours of exchanges with officials and specialists of the Cuban Interior Ministry, were presented to the U.S. delegation.
Twelve years later the only answer we got is to watch how these cruel terrorists walk, even march freely through the streets of the U.S. and the injustice of keeping Five youngsters antiterrorist fighters, who contributed to prevent such aggressions against the Cuban people.
Washington has the information courts need to make justice in the case of Posada Carriles and many other terrorists living freely in the U.S., essential elements to clarify once and for the injustice that our Five compatriots have suffered.
Posada Carriles' punish is as just and necessary, as to release the Cuban Five, if Washington wants to be consistent with its supposed commitment to fighting terrorism.
Our country condemns all acts, methods and practices of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations by whomever, against whoever, wherever and whatever their motivations are.
Cuba has every reason to defend and continue the fight against terrorism. The 3 478 dead and 2 099 physically disabled compatriots as result of state terrorism and the continuity of the actions of those who have been its main inspirers and authors, confirm our determination to never surrender to those threats.
