Sri Lankan parliamentarian condemn the acquittal of terrorist Posada Carriles.
SRI LANKA, April 18, 2011. - A large representation of parliamentarians from all Sri Lankan political forces issued a statement denouncing the verdict of not guilty issued on April 8 by the jury in the Posada’s case in El Paso, Texas. MPs say in their statement that, “this is not only a travesty of justice, but also a negation of the anti-terrorist stance of the USA”.
The statement, which recounts the terrorist actions in which Posada has been involved goes on to say that it is shocking that while a US Court exonerates Posada, a proven terrorist, five Cuban antiterrorist fighters remain unjustly imprisoned in the USA serving unjust sentences imposed on them by trying to collect information on terrorist activities of people like Posada who today freely walk in the streets of Miami. The statement concludes that it is no surprise that in this context the U.S. and the West are preparing a case for "war crimes" and "crimes against humanity" against the Sri Lankan government. The question is, said the statement, which is truly for and against terrorism. (Cubaminrex - Embassy of Cuba Sri Lanka).
