Jurors Begin Deliberations Following 13-Week Trial of Terrorist Luis Posada Carriles.

EL PASO, Texas, 8 April 2011.- Jurors in Texas are finally set to begin their deliberations following the 13-week perjury trial of a anti-Cuban terrorist Luis Posada Carriles.

Luis Posada Carriles is an ex-CIA operative who conducted and masterminded numerous terrorist actions against Cuba and other progressive governments around Latin America — with U.S. support.

But he sneaked into the U.S. in 2005 and faces perjury, obstruction and immigration fraud charges.

He's accused of lying during citizenship hearings in El Paso about how he entered the country and about his involvement in deadly 1997 bombings at tourist sites in Cuba, causing the death of an Italian tourist.

Prosecutors told jurors in closing arguments Thursday that no one is above the law, despite Posada's service to the U.S. government.

Deliberations are to begin Friday. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
