Havana, Jun 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is always on guard and ready to act against terrorism, affirmed president Fidel Castro in the closing day of the international meeting against that scourge that gathered here delegates from over 60 nations.
The International Meeting against Terrorism, for Truth and Justice, was in session for three days, during which many testimonies of horror and death suffered by many people all over the planet were made.
The head of state described the meeting as historical and said participants at the anti-terrorist meeting possibly have won the right to be “attacked preemptively and surprisingly for the simple fact of having met here”.
I hope that bombs will not reach you because we are a growing number, he added.
Fidel Castro affirmed the speeches during these days indicate “we are remarkably thinking in the same way”, referring to the denunciations of terrorism and pointing to the responsibility of the United States.
He said that the meeting was organized in six days and praised the positive response to the Cuban call.
“It is nobody´s merit, maybe only the result of being always on guard and ready to act and to fight”, he asserted.
Participants insisted on the denunciation of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles and his long list of crimes was supported Venezuela´s request to the US for his extradition, according to standing bilateral agreements between the two nations in force since 1922.
The Cuban leader asked himself where is the humanism and the civilization in these stories of death and repression we have heard in Havana during these days.
Among participants to the venue there were victims and parents of the arrested-missing in Latin America during Operation Condor, as well as members of the thousands of Cuban families who suffered from Washington-spurred terrorism.
I can´t remember so many acts of cruelty as those we have heard of here, underlined the president.
