Cuba and Argentina Strengthen Relations

Havana, Dec 15, 2005. (Prensa Latina) Cuba and Argentina ratified an educational-cultural agreement, which will permit the homologation of university degrees between both countries.

Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Relations Rafael Daussa, signing for the Cuban staff, said the agreement was an important step toward strengthening bilateral interchange and mutual relations.

He affirmed that the agreement, signed on November 25 in Buenos Aires, sets the bases for concurrence of conferment of college degrees and includes the work of Argentineans studying in Cuba.

The Argentine Ambassador to Havana Dario Pedro Alessandro referred to education and knowledge as powerful integration links for peoples.

This year, recalled the ambassador, Argentina welcomed back 42 new doctors, five professionals in physical education and other university disciplines who graduated in the Caribbean island.

This agreement determines the steps to carry out successful cooperation in the fields of research and teaching training.
