Lisbon Demands Trial for Posada Carriles

Lisbon, Jul 13 (Prensa Latina) Porto´s Regional Commission against the Blockade and in Solidarity with Cuba and the Cuban community in Portugal demanded that the Cuban-born terrorist Luis Posada Carriles be tried and condemned for his crimes.

Hundreds of Portuguese presented Tuesday a document entitled "Hand over Posada Carriles to Justice" at Porto´s Freedom Square, condemning the farcical detention of the terrible murderer and collecting signatures to demand from the White House his extradition to Venezuela.

The text also appears in the Regional Commission websites for those internauts who want to sign it, and will be delivered to the US embassy in Lisbon.

On Monday, the Portugal-Cuba Friendship Association in Lisbon held a similar activity, where people distributed information on criminal Posada Carriles.

Association member Jorge Pereira said Posada Carriles and his accomplice Orlando Bosh have a larger criminal record than that of Bin Laden, so in effect Washington is giving him refuge if it does not extradite him to Venezuela.

The mastermind behind the mid-air explosion of a Cubana airplane with 73 passengers in October 1976 and of bomb attacks in Havana hotels in 1997, among other crimes, is detained in United States for illegally entering that northern country, where he has requested political asylum.
