Cuba Calls Upon US to Arrest Terrorist Orlando Bosch

Havana, May 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Fidel Castro called upon the United States to arrest the confessed terrorist Orlando Bosch, who is currently living in that country and has a thick record of crimes against the Caribbean Island and other nations.

Participants in the Tuesday mass demonstration along Havana sea drive not only demanded the arrest of Luis Posada Carriles, but also that of Orlando Bosch, who freely walks the Miami streets, said the Cuban head of State in the news analysis TV hour Round Table.

"If so many people have already died in the name of wars unleashed by the United States against terrorism, why not taking a confessed terrorist to court," wondered Fidel Castro.

The Cuban statesman charged that the US government has protected this individual, who is responsible together with Posada Carriles for the mid-flight bombing of a Cuban airliner that killed all 73 people on board in 1976 and other acts of terror.

What George Bush Sr. offered Bosch cannot be called pardon, but protection by complicity, he stressed.

How many secrets might this individual (Bosch) know, he pointed out, about CIA and other government agencies operations in Central America like the supply of weapons to the Nicaraguan contras, or the sinister Operation Condor and the coordination of military dictatorships in South America in the 1970s and 1980s.

Fidel Castro recalled the notorious terrorist was linked to the assassination of former Chilean Foreign Minister Orlando Letelier 29 years ago, and the US government continues to provide him with protection and shelter, knowing that he is responsible for that and other crimes as FBI and CIA files prove.

The TV program focused on the repercussion of the huge march against terrorism that brought together more than 1.2 million Cubans in Havana on Tuesday, and on the detention of the notorious terrorist Luis Posada Carriles in Miami.

Posada was detained shortly after he appeared at a news conference that some media organizations have described as clandestine in a heavily protected warehouse in Miami.

A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said Posada was being detained for 48 hours to look into his immigration status, but made clear he was not going to be deported neither to Cuba nor Venezuela where the terrorist is wanted.

Posada Carriles is a creature of the United States, says Fidel Castro

Havana, May 19 (Prensa Latina) Terrorist Luis Posada Carriles is a “creature of the United States”, asserted president Fidel Castro in the TV program, questioning why US authorities did not detain and interrogate his accomplices when he was arrested by agents of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Speaking at the TV news analysis hour "Round Table", Fidel Castro pointed out the story of Posada´s benefactors are fabrications, and rebuffed Posada´s story on how he entered American territory. The Cuban leader went on to affirm there are many questions which the authorities have left unanswered to hide their infamous alliance in the case.
The program broadcast by radio and TV stations to the whole nation, referred to opinions expressed by US media in which they describe the criminal as a “Frankenstein created by the United States” and others that demand the White House to apply its anti-terrorist policy on Posada Carriles.
Images of the press conference offered by the terrorist and his later arrest were screened in the program. The latter action was described by one of the panel members as “gentle and friendly”.
In a country where common criminals are handcuffed as usual proceeding, the mastermind of the blowing up of a Cubana airliner with 73 persons on board got a preferential treatment by DHS officers, as can be judged from images taken by US television networks.
Cubans worry over the possibility the US authorities might maneuver to keep Posada from going to court.
On Tuesday 17, Havana sea drive was the stage of a huge demonstration of over 1.2 million Cubans who demanded justice and an end to terrorism.
During the Round Table program, images of Posada saying the United States government is his ally in his war against Cuba were screened.

US immigration authorities to review Posada’s immigration status in the next 48 hours

THE United States Homeland Security Department is to review the immigration status of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles during the next 48 hours, the period of time set by law for making a decision on the case, according to an EFE report.
Immigration authorities took the notorious international terrorist yesterday by helicopter to the Krome Detention Center, where immigrants are held, in southern Florida, as was seen live on CNN television.

Terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, the author of various attacks including the mid-flight explosion of a Cuban passenger plane that killed 73 people, was arrested yesterday in Miami, although Homeland Security Department authorities said that he was "in the custody" of that agency, AFP reported.

According to a source, the arrest occurred after a mass march in Havana against and to demand Posada’s extradition.
Eduardo Soto, his attorney, told reporters at a press conference that he did not know where his client was taken by the agents from the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) who arrested him.

The day had begun with the publication of an interview in a Miami newspaper confirming Posada Carriles’ presence in the city. Subsequently, the terrorist called a press conference with a number of reporters. After midday, according to various news agency reports, he was arrested in a Miami-Dade residence.

The Homeland Security Department did not specify where he would end up, but did express that the ICE "does not generally remove people to Cuba, nor does ICE generally remove people to countries believed to be acting on Cuba’s behalf," in a clear reference to Venezuela.

A communiqué from the above-mentioned department says that Posada Carriles was detained for a "review of his immigration status" for having entered the country illegally this past March.
