Sao Paulo, May 29 (Prensa Latina) The protection given by the Bush administration to terrorist Luis Posada Carriles exposes the nature of that government, denounced the Secretary General of the National Youth Institute of Venezuela, Jose Marcano.
In statements to Prensa Latina, the leader of the Venezuelan youth organization stressed the importance of the march held in Caracas claiming for the extradition of Posada and the demands of president Hugo Chavez to that end.
He said that rally that gathered hundreds of thousands of persons was to tell the US government to “return the terrorist that we do want to judge him”.
Marcano indicated that the terrorist nature of the Bush administration was already exposed since the invasion on Iraq, whose people “suffers one of the greatest massacres the world has known”.
He remembered president George W. Bush said once that the country who harbored a terrorist would be considered one, but his government now protects the greatest terrorist in the Continent, responsible for many crimes.
Marcano denounced US authorities don’t want to judge Posada for the bombing of a Cuban civil plane in which 73 persons died in 1976, or other crimes, but only “because he supposedly entered illegally to the United States.”
“We don’t know if that entrante was allowed by them”, warned Marcano, who participated in Brazil in the 13th National Convention on Solidarity with Cuba that concluded Saturday night in Sao Paulo after four days of debates.
In a conference offered to the delegates to that meeting, Marcano said concerning Posada “if we have him, we are going to do justice; if the gringos have him, they’re going to treat him like a king”.
Marcano also informed about the preps for next August’s 16th World Youth and Students’ Festival which will be held for the first time in South America and will allow attendants to know of Venezuelan reality today.
