Posada´s Case at EU-Latin America Parliamentary Meeting

Lima, Jun 13 (Prnesa Latina) Cuba will introduce the case of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles -protected by the US government- to the 17th Conference of the European, Latina American, and Caribbean Parliaments, to begin here Wednesday.

Cuban Deputy Ramon Pez Ferro, president of the Foreign Relations Commission of the People´s Power (Parliament) National Assembly, made the announcement in Lima.

He told Prensa Latina the meeting´s procedures allow including topics other than those already agreed in the official agenda.

In a press conference at the Peruvian Congress´ headquarters Tuesday, Pez Ferro denounced the US government is sparing no effort to avoiding justice against Posada, despite his long record of terrorist acts against Cuba and other countries.

The US is now trying to evade a formal extradition request made by Venezuela, where Posadas masterminded the mid-flight explosion of a Cubana airliner in 1976, killing 73 people, the Cuban deputy stressed.

What infuriates the world opinion is that the government which boasts about being the champion of the anti-terrorist fight is the same that protects this criminal, he sustained.

Meanwhile, demands to extradite Posada Carriles continue growing. In Quito groups of Ecuadorians rallied in front of the US embassy in Quito demanding the extradition of the notorious Cuban-born terrorist Luis Posada Carriles to Venezuela.
