Seville Meeting Slams US Treatment of Posada Carriles

Madrid, May 23 (Prensa Latina) A cooperation with Cuba meeting in Seville criticized the privileged treatment the US is offering to notorious terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, as well as his possible asylum in that country.

Representatives from about 30 Spanish organizations for cooperation with Cuba attended the three-day gathering, and made a special analysis of the terrorist´s situation in the US.

The 127 delegates Sunday approved a declaration denouncing the Bush government´s attempts to support Posada Carriles who, along with Orlando Bosch, masterminded the Cubana airliner bombing in 1976, killing 73 people.

If the US grants him asylum, it would be akin to recognizing its over 40 year-old terrorist practices against Cuba, the participants warned.

The Seville meeting coincided with another one in Salamanca this weekend, when representatives from about 50 friendship associations condemned Posada´s presence in the US and demanded his extradition to Venezuela.
