Havana, May 10, 2006 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Vice President Carlos Lage is heading the island´s official delegation to the fourth Europe-Latin America and Caribbean Summit (EU-LAC), taking place May 11-12 in Vienna. Lage will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Felipe Perez Roque, vice ministers Abelardo Moreno and Eumelio Caballero and other Chancellery officials. During the EU-LAC, which aims to consolidate the strategic bi-regional association, Cuba will work to strengthen the unity and solidarity of Latin American and Caribbean nations, and demand full application and fulfillment of international law as established in the UN Charter. Likewise, the Caribbean island will plead for multilateralism and reject application of unilateral economic measures for political ends. In the parallel social forum, “Linking Alternatives 2” Summit, also in Vienna, Cuba will be represented by scientific, cultural, sports and grassroots notables.
