Havana, Jul 10, 2006. (Prensa Latina) Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Francisco Carrion praised the historical relationship between his nation and Cuba and extolled their good bilateral cooperation. Carrion admired the island´s cooperation in 16 of the 22 Ecuadorian provinces where a Cuban literacy program, which has benefited 20,000 people there, is being applied. The official also appreciated the results of the Cuban-Venezuelan Operation Miracle, by which 2,000 Ecuadorians have recovered their sight. Likewise, he expressed satisfaction over Ecuadorian youngsters studying health specialties on the island and confirmed the presence of President Alfredo Palacio in the forthcoming 14th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in September in Havana. |
