Lage Extols Cuban Cooperation in Bolivia Sucre, Bolivia, Aug 6/2006 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Vice President Carlos Lage noted the work by Cuban doctors and professors in Bolivia, a sister nation that needs world solidarity for its realignment. At a meeting with nearly 200 doctors and advisors in the Literacy campaign "Yo si puedo", Lage stressed that Cuba will keep up support to both vital social projects considered priorities. The also Council of Ministers Secretary talked about President Fidel Castro's favorable post-surgery recovery and thanked the messages for the Cuban statesman since he arrived in Bolivia. The young Cuban doctors handed in a letter wishing for President Fidel Castro' immediate recovery. Lage lauded the Cuban doctors' achievements, including free eye surgery, and the work of teachers and social workers involved in the literacy campaign. The Cuban official will attend the inauguration of Bolivia's Constituency Assembly and the 181st anniversary of Bolivia's independence.
