Panama President Meets Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister

Panama, Mar 2, 2006. (Prensa Latina) Cuba´s Deputy Foreign Minister Rafael Daussa personally gave Panama´s President Martin Torrijos an invitation by President Fidel Castro to attend the Non-Aligned Countries Movement Summit (NAM) in Havana on September 15-16.

At a meeting, Torrijos expressed thanks for the invitation and said he would participate in that important event, said Daussa.

Accompanied by Cuban ambassador to Panama Carlos Garcia Trapaga, Daussa and Torrijos analyzed details of the NAM meeting, as well as issues of bilateral interest, like the successful Operation Miracle project which has already benefited free-of-charge about 48,000 Panamanians with eye afflictions.
