US Organizations Urge Extradition of Terrorist
Mexico, Apr 18, 2006. (Prensa Latina) A group of US social organizations will go to El Paso, Texas Immigration Court to demand extradition to Venezuela of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles.
The protest at the Court is against the Central Intelligence Agent's request to grant the admitted terrorist American citizenship, said Gloria La Riva.
The protest will help check White House maneuvers to bring Posada Carriles "closer to his circle of terrorists in Miami" after a 15-month detention, ignoring Venezuela's extradition request.
La Riva contrasted the official support to the bomber of a Cubana airliner in 1976 with 73 people aboard, to the Five Cuban anti-terrorism fighters who have been imprisoned in the US since 1998.
She said the groups will also urge for the immediate release of the five Cubans who were submitted to an unfair trial and have received heartless treatment.
In Mexico, La Riva joined organizers of a national political strike and a mega-boycott of US products planned for May Day to protest the "modern slavery" and demand amnesty for the millions of undocumented foreigners working in the US.
