SURINAME, August 26, 2007.- The Milagro Project was again successful in the district of Nickerie in Suriname. On different locations the special team of Cuban ophthalmologists examined and treated more than 200 patients with eye afflictions. Of these patients 82 must go to Cuba for eye surgery. It was the second time that inhabitants of the Nickerie district were selected for surgery in Cuba. The team visited Wageningen, Paradise, the Corantijnpolder and the Regional Hospital in Nickerie. The high turn out of persons who came to have their eyes checked is an indication that the Milagro Project is very much needed, is the opinion of all patients, who grateful to the Cuban government for this possibility.(Cubaminrex-Embacuba Suriname)
