NICARAGUA, January 11, 2007.-Nicaraguan president, Daniel Ortega, received on Wednesday a personal greeting from his Cuban counterpart, Fidel Castro and a letter from First Vice President Raul Castro and Communist Party Political Bureau member, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, who is heading the island's delegation to the swearing- in ceremony. In a meeting at the headquarters of the Sandinista National Liberation Front in Managua, the new Nicaraguan Head of State thanked the delegation for their participation, from "the sister and revolutionary nation guided by Fidel". Daniel Ortega said that he was happy to share with the Cuban people "these moments of struggle in favor of the Latin American people". Machado Ventura was accompanied by the head of the International Relations Department of Cuba's Communist Party, Fernando Remirez de Estenoz and Deputy Foreign Minister, Alejandro Gonzalez, among others.
