CUBA, 10 February, 2007.- Argentina is the honored guest at the 16th Cuba Book Festival and a total of 250,000 copies of five anthologies of literature from the South American nation were officially donated to the island on Friday at the Morro-Cabaña Fortress, where the popular annual event is taking place. Cuban Minister of Culture Abel Prieto, his Argentine counterpart Jose Nun and Iroel Sanchez, director of the Cuban Book Institute, presided over the ceremony. The books were published by Aique Grupo Editor. The firm’s director Teresita Valdettaro explained that the anthologies (50,000 copies of each) include poetry, stories, children’s literature, comic strips and songs (tango, folklore and rock). "It is of great pleasure for us to bring you closer to these works — said Nun — and it makes us feel proud to be the bearers of these first copies." (Cubaminrex-Granma)
