Cuba-Panama Parliaments Cooperate

PANAMA , July 12, 2007.-  Deputies from Cuba and Panama are examining in this capital  the course of agreements existing between the two countries, with the aim of further boosting bilateral cooperation.

The 11th Cuba-Panama Inter-Parliamentary Group began sessions Wednesday presided over by top legislative representatives from both nations.

Cuban People's Power National Assembly (Parliament) President Ricardo Alarcon leads the island's delegation, which was warmly welcomed by his Panamanian counterpart and host Elias Castillo.

The Group leader Deputy Carlos Alvarado was very satisfied with the course of Cuban collaboration programs with his nation, particularly in health, education and sports.

Thursday's agenda includes a report on bilateral accords, an analysis on international situations of common interest and conclusions in a Joint Declaration. (Cubaminrex-PL)
