URUGUAY, July 20, 2007.- Representatives from several Uruguayan organizations are expected to attend a continental solidarity meeting with Cuba to be run in October in Quito, Ecuador, one of the promoters reported in this capital Friday. Fabio Simeon Gonzalez, official from the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, told Prensa Latina that this will be the fifth gathering of this kind and the first one to be held outside Havana. The meeting's agenda includes achieving the release of five Cuban anti-imperialist fighters serving unfair sentences in United States ranging from 15 years to double life terms, for monitoring terrorist groups responsible of violent actions against Cuba. Also on the list is the strengthening of the solidarity movement with the Jose Marti homeland, support the integration process in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Cuban medical and educational missions in the region and other parts of the world.
