Dominican Secretary of State on Visit to Cuba CUBA, June 4 , 2007.- Secretary of State for the Dominican Republic Miguel Mejias arrived in Havana on invitation of the Communist Party of Cuba. Mejias, general secretary of the United Left Movement, told Prensa Latina that Latin America and especially the Caribbean are at an important juncture of integration. He spoke about the importance of the recently revitalized Dominican-Cuban joint committee, calling it a space for exchange and a guarantee of the continuity of bilateral relations.
