CUBA, March 1, 2007.- A high level delegation of the Paraguayan Deputy Chamber continued its visit to Cuba on Thursday to reinforce ties with the Cuban National Assembly (unicameral Congress). Paraguayan legislators, led by House Speaker Victor Alcides Bogado, met with Cuban Vice Minister for Foreign Investment and Economic Collaboration Ricardo Guerrero and discussed possibilities of exchange, official sources said. They visited the Memorial to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti, where they received information on Marti s work in favor of Cuban independence, and a visit to the Ramon Pando Ferrer Ophthalmology Institute is scheduled. In the Latin American Medical School (ELAM) in Havana, the visitors dialogued with Paraguayan students, and expressed gratitude that Cuba extends such a possibility to the youth of the world with few resources. The Paraguayan delegation is formed by Carlos Samudio, secretary general of the Paraguayan House, Julio Colman, Jose Torres, Ricardo Argaña, Juan Lorenzo Ramirez, Juan Carlos Martinez and Marcelino Quiñonez, ANR deputies (National Republican Association). There are also PLRA deputies Zulia Gomez and Oscar Gonzalez, of the Authentic Radical Liberal Party. On Friday, they plan to visit Matanzas Province where they will talk to officials from the local Legislature and visit Varadero Beach. (Cubaminrex- PL)
