Saint Kitts Nevis Prime Minister Values Cuba

CUBA, March 6, 2007.- Saint Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Denzil Douglas is winding up Tuesday his five-day official visit to Cuba, in which ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation were expanded.

The visitor highlighted the close relations between his country and Cuba, and applauded the island´s success in programs like urban agriculture, expressing interest to further collaborate in this matter.

During his stay here, the Caribbean official held official talks with Cuba´s First Vice President Raul Castro, visited a nursery school in Matanzas province, saw the capital´s historical quarter, a social workers school and an energy project in western Havana.

The Saint Kitts and Nevis prime minister expressed gratitude for Cuba´s collaboration in health with the Operation Miracle, a project to provide free ophthalmologic surgery for hundreds of thousands of low-income Latin American and Caribbean patients with eye afflictions.
