CUBA , September 8, 2007.- The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Patrick Manning concludes Saturday, a three-day official visit to Cuba aimed at boosting bilateral ties between the two island nations. Before leaving for his country, Manning and his delegation will visit Cuba 's main computing center, an institution devoted to teaching computer science totally free of charge. During his stay on the island, the Trinidadian dignitary held official talks with Cuban First Vice President Raul Castro Ruz to tackle several issues related to the development of bilateral links and the international and regional agenda. The ceremony was also attended by Cuban Vice President Carlos Lage Davila; Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque and the island's Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago Sergio Oliva. The top official's agenda also included laying a floral wreath at the monument erected to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti; visiting the National School of Ballet as well as attending an artistic gala at Havana 's Karl Marx theater. What's more, he inaugurated the Trinidad and Tobago Facilitation Office, which will serve to promote trade between the two countries and is a step closer in the regional integration process. In declarations to press, Manning highlighted his close friendship with Cuban President Fidel Castro and the state of bilateral relations between both nations, whose bilateral trade stand at over 65 million dollars. The Trinidadian prime minister traveled accompanied by an important delegation from his country that included Education Minister Hazel Manning; Industry and Trade Secretary Kenneth Valley; Minister of Culture, Community and Gender Affairs Joan Yville-Williams; Housing Secretary Keith Rowley.
