KENYA, December 10, 2008. An article signed by the Cuban Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Mr. Julio Cesar Gonzalez Marchante, was published by the "Daily Nation" under the title "The Cubans will continue defending their rights", on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The text highlights the achievements of the Cuban Revolution throughout these 50 years in health, education, culture, sports and social security, among other basic rights enjoyed by the entire Cuban people, without distinction of race, sex, gender or religious belief. Gonzalez Marchante stressed in his message that the axis of Cuba's position on this topic is the recognition of the universal, indivisible, interdependent and interrelated character of all human rights.
