BRAZIL, December 18, 2008. Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva met on Thursday with his Cuban peer Raul Castro, who is paying an official visit to Brazil. Lula, the Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorin and Cuba's Felipe Perez Roque waited for Raul Castro in the Planalto Palace, after he received military honors in front of the Three Powers Square. Both statesmen embraced and later greeted a group of children carrying flags from the two nations, and exchanged some words with them. Afterwards, Lula and Raul Castro held official talks at the Planalto Palace. The Cuban president arrived in this capital early Thursday, after attending the Latin American and Caribbean Summit in the seaside resort of Costa do Sauipe.(Cubaminrex- PL) |
