Havana, Feb 21 (AIN) "Visiting Cuba is a great privilege," said Roosevelt Skerrit, prime minister of Dominica, who described his recently concluded work visit to the island as historic.
During this stay - his second visit to Cuba - Skerrit held talks with President Fidel Castro on a range of topics of mutual interest for Dominica and Cuba, according to a report in the Monday edition of the Granma newspaper.
The two leaders discussed ways in which Cuba could help Dominica to eradicate illiteracy, assist in the training of nurses and doctors, and serve in the creation of a nursing school for the Caribbean nation of 21,000 inhabitants.
Upon
his departure, Skerrit said he intended to travel to Venezuela to learn more
of cooperative efforts between Cuba and Venezuela. The Dominican prime minister
was seen off by Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Cuba's minister of government, at Havana's
Jose Marti international airport Sunday afternoon.
