Bush: Ally of Posada Carriles

Havana, Jan 5, 2006 (Prensa Latina) The US government is protecting terrorist Luis Posada Carriles by refusing to try him for his crimes or extradite him to Venezuela, plaintiff attorney Jose Pertierra denounced.

In an article by Juventud Rebelde journal, Pertierra affirmed Washington masked Posada´s criminal status by presenting him to the world “as a simple undocumented person who crossed the border without a visa, and not as the terrorist he is.”

The US has enough laws to send this terrorist to jail, but the government of George W. Bush lacks the political willingness to make justice prevail, he noted.

According to the legal representative for the case in Caracas, the US government limited itself to “scolding” the criminal for illegally entering the country, instead of applying justice.

There is no need for extensive investigation -he insisted- to come to the conclusion Posada Carriles is a terrorist.

Reading his book “Los Caminos del Guerrero” (The Paths of the Warrior) is more than enough, as the author proudly tells some of the actions he plotted, the attorney highlighted.

Caracas has sent two extradition requests to the US, but the government has ignored them. Bush is evading the laws of his own country and three international extradition treaties, which the White House has used in its own interest in the anti-terrorism fight.
