Chile Lawmakers Slam Posada Release

CHILE, 24 de Mayo  2007 .- Fourteen Chilean senators and deputies condemned the release in United States of international terrorist Luis Posada Carriles.

In a letter delivered Wednesday to the US embassy in this country, the group of legislators expressed its support of requests by international parliamentarians and Nobel prizewinners that Posada must be extradited and face the law for his crimes.

They also stated that the weakness of accusations presented by the US government facilitated the liberation of criminal Posada Carriles, who is the self-confessed mastermind of the mid-air explosion of a Cuban airplane in 1976 that cost the life of 73 people.

Senators Juan Pablo Letelier, Pedro Munoz, Jose Gomez, Camilo Escalona, Ricardo Nunez, Jaime Naranjo, Roberto Munoz, Adolfo Zaldivar, Guillermo Vasquez, Alejandro Navarro and Nelson Avila, as well as deputies Sergio Aguilo, Alejandro Sule and René Alinco inked the document. (Cubaminrex-PL)
