CUBA, May 9, 2007.- US District Judge Kathleen Cardone has reportedly dismissed the indictment of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles on immigration and fraud charges. According to reports, Cardone dropped the charges against the confessed assassin which was only accused of lying to immigration officials. The international terrorist was recently released on bail and waiting for his trial which was scheduled for May 11th. Luis Posada Carriles is responsible for the bombing of a Cubana airliner in October of 1976 killing 73 innocent people on board. He was also responsible for the bombing of hotels in Havana killing Italian tourist Fabio Di Celmo among other terrorist acts not only in Cuba but in Latin America. Venezuela has requested his extradition on several occasions after escaping from a Caracas prison in 1985 accused of the Cubana bombing. (Cubaminrex-RHC) |
