Cuba: US Attorney General Cynical

CUBA, May 14, 2007.- US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales attitude over the release in that country of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles is cynical, the Cuba media reported Monday.

Granma daily printed a version of Gonzales testimony at the US Congress, along with the announcement that the informative radio-TV roundtable today will debate the White House stance over that scourge.

The program will include Gonzales "cynical testimony at the US Congress over Posada Carriles case," the daily sustains in its front page.

When addressing the congressional Judicial Commission, the attorney general barely made out that the Department of Justice disagreed with federal judge Kathleen Cardone s ruling over Posada Carriles case.

"Why haven t you adopted measures to declare Posada Carriles a terrorist when much information has been made public?" democrat legislator William Delahunt asked him.

Gonzales, evidently uncomfortable, had to confess he is the one who must make the decision to declare Posada terrorist, Granma highlighted, after commenting that the controversial member of the US cabinet hid behind the supposed need for more information.(Cubaminrex-PL)
