Taken from Granma Peter Kornbluh, director of the Cuba Documentation Project at the National Security Archives at George Washington University said the release from custody of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles is an embarrassment for the United States. "The White House has sent a message to the world that it is unwilling to fight against terrorism," said Kornbluh in an interview Monday with Cuban TV. "We are ashamed here in the United States," he said. A few days earlier, Kornbluh revealed that declassified US intelligence documents demonstrate that Posada Carriles was behind numerous violent actions against Cuba. Kornbluh said that the documents are part of the original investigation of the "incredible and horrendous crime" committed by Posada Carriles, Orlando Bosch when they sabotaged a Cubana Airlines flight 455 in 1976. The in-flight bombing took the lives of all 73 persons aboard. Let’s hope there is justice in the case of Posada Carriles, because the victims and their relatives in Cuba and other countries deserve to see the terrorist brought to trial. |
