CUBA, April 23, 2007.- More celebrities and world organizations added their voice this Monday to the international call to demand the indictment of notorious terrorist Luis Posada Carriles. The Russian movement Venceremos, made up of progressive parties, union and grassroots organizations, delivered to the United States embassy in Russia a note which rejects the Posada Carriles release on bail granted in US. Turkish progressive organizations also demanded Posada Carriles' immediate return to prison and his extradition to Venezuela. The Californian paper La Opinion also published an article Sunday, which describes as contradictory the US government message in its supposed struggle against terrorism and the way it acted on the Posada Carriles case. A federal jury will judge Posada on seven minor charges, among them fraud in the naturalization process and six for lying to migratory officials, but he won't be judged for his bloody terrorist acts. Peruvian Frente Amplio de Izquierda; Chilean popular leaders; Partido Comunista de los Pueblos de España; Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki also added their voice to the international demand. Since Thursday, Cubans have had mass demonstrations in different provinces of the country to protest against Luis Posada Carriles release. (Cubaminrex- PL). |
