May 11, 2007 PRESS RELEASE U. S. HYPOCRISY EXPOSED The Communication Workers' Union joins with the Government and People of the Republic of CUBA and all PROGRESSIVE THINKING and FREEDOM loving people of the world, including citizens of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in condemning the inaction of the BUSH' LED administration of the UNITED STATES for not lifting a finger to ensure that one of the world's SENIOR TERRORIST, LUIS POSADA CARRILES, is made to pay for his crimes against the CUBAN PEOPLE and the test of the civilized world. The 1977 bombing of an AIR CUBANA aircraft off the coast of Barbados in which ah seventy three (73) passengers consisting mainly of CUBAN NATIONALS and a few CARICOM nationals from GUYANA perished, remains the most notable TERRORIST ACTIVITY in the English speaking Caribbean to date. This incident, which saw the involvement of the Trinidad and Tobago Police as led by then Commissioner Randolph Burroughs in the detention and questioning of Posada- Carrille´s co-conspirator Freddy Lugo and others at the former Holiday Inn Hotel, is yet to be put to rest in the minds and hearts of the people of GUYANA, TRINIDAD &.TOBAGO, BARBADOS and CUBA. In the intervening years since that terrible tragedy, successive UNITED STATES ADMINISTRATIONS and the former compliant VENEZUELAN REGIMES have conspired to harbor and protect TERRORIST LUIS POSADA CARRILLES and his hand of THUGS, all of whom at one time or another were PAID C.I.A OPERATIVES. The recent freeing of POSADA CARRILLES in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA despite the representations and protestations of both the CUBAN and VENEZUELAN governments, is testimony to the DOUBLE STANDARDS of the UNITED STATES authorities, who revel in portraying themselves as WORLD POLICE and GUARDIANS of DEMOCRACY. The Communication Workers' Union, in denouncing TERRORISM in all its forms regardless of nationality and or political leaning, demands that the U.S. authorities lend credibility to their much proclaimed ANTI-TERRORIST stance, by repatriating TERRORIST LUIS POSADA CARRILLES to VENEZUELA to answer charges in respect of the most vile crime of which he has long been accused of.
