WASHINGTON, April 13, 2007.- While international rejection, even within the US society, of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles possible release on bail keeps growing, a US court of appeals turned out the ruling and the criminal will stay in jail for the moment. Posada Carriles was about to be released when the US Fifth Circuit of Appeals granted prosecutors an emergency stay to have more time "to explore the possibility to appeal the ruling," the Department of Justice federal police indicated. The Attorney s Office sustained it wants to avoid Posada Carriles s bond until his trial in May on charges of naturalization fraud and making false statements on his application for citizenship, but he will not be tried for any of his several crimes, including the explosion of a Cuban airliner in 1976. Meanwhile, thousands of people in Cuba keep denouncing the terrorist s impunity in popular meetings and rallies all over the Island. Cuban and international voices are also demanding justice for the five Cuban anti-terrorists, who were given severe sentences in the US precisely for trying to prevent criminal actions like those executed by Posada.(Cubaminrex-PL)
