US May Let Terrorist Go Free

UNITED STATES  , November 5, 2007.-  International terrorist Luis Posada Carriles could Monday be acquitted from charges in the United States, if the Bush government maintains its refusal to try him for criminal actions.

Today at midnight is the deadline for the Department of Justice to present arguments that could return to jail the bailed criminal, charged with migratory crimes and not for the murders he planned.

His terrorist record includes, among others, the explosion in midair of a Cuban airplane in 1976 with 73 passengers, and a series of bomb attacks in Havana hotels in 1997, in which Italian tourist Fabio di Celmo was killed.

Also on the list is the Bay of Pigs invasion, the Iran-Contra case and, according to some spying theories, the murder of President John F. Kennedy.

Posada was released on parole on April 19, 2007, after Judge Kathleen Cardone granted his parole of $250,000.

Posada illegally entered the United States after being pardoned in 2004 by the Panamanian President Mireya Moscoso in the final days of her administration. (Cubaminrex-PL)
