VENEZUELA, May 14, 2007.- Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro affirmed his government is evaluating a possibility of taking the Posada Carriles case to the International Court in the Hague, if the US silence of extraditing him persists. That Cuban-born terrorist was responsible for the mid-air explosion of the Cuban airplane off the coast of Barbados in 1976 that cost the lives of 73 people. Maduro s statements this weekend reinforce what lawyer Jose Pertierra, representing the country in this case, announced some days ago. Venezuela formally requested his extradition in July 2005, but the country has not yet received a response from the US government. (Cubaminrex-PL)
