Havana, Dec 15 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Parliamentary President Ricardo Alarcon addressed attendants to the premiere of the co-production "Mision contra el Terror" (Mission against Terror) which he called an homage to the Cuban Five.
Alarcon called the film a huge gesture of solidarity with Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, Ramon Labañino and Fernando Gonzalez, who are serving unfair 15-year to double life sentences in jails in the United States for fighting terrorism.
The Legislator said the Cuban Five, as they are known in more than 80 countries through the ongoing international campaign for their release, are victims of the silence the corporate media imposes on the world on a verdict the defense calls unfair and politically biased.
The documentary --a co-production of Cuba"s Canal Educativo TV channel and Irish Producciones dos Isla- narrates in short the attacks perpetrated against the Island by terrorists residents in Miami with Washington"s complicity.
The testimony, led by Irish Bernie Dwayer, Journalist from Radio Habana Cuba, and Roberto Ruiz Rebo, denounces the injustices and human right violation against the Cuban Five and their relatives that attended the release.
Alarcon added that the Cuban Five deserve to be, are and will be honored by humanity for fighting terrorism. They neither deserve to be in jail nor the unfair treatment they are receiving.
