Havana, Nov 2 (AIN) Renowned painters George Fredenucci of France and Cuba's Francisco Rivero have illustrated poems by Antonio Guerrero, one of the five Cuban political prisoners incarcerated in the US for fighting terrorism.
Having blended shades of green, red and brown, both artists sold signed prints with the objective of raising funds for the Medicuba Association to help support the Cuba's healthcare system, according to Tuesday's Antiterroristas web page.
Sensitized by injustices committed against the five Cuban men, Fredenucci illustrated poems entitled "Surtidor de sueños"(Dream Spout) and El mundo es nuestro" (The Dream is Ours).
Onhis part, Rivero choose "Soy Un Hombre" (I Am a Man), a poem representing statements made during "the Five's" trial in Miami, and "Oda al maestro" (Ode to the Master), a poem dedicated to Cuba's national hero Jose Marti.
The initiative is sponsored by the Solidarity-with-Cuba group in the city of Grenoble, France. The group's president, Marie France Allamand, said that her organization is working for the release of the Five.
Allamand expressed her confidence that the group's work will allow them to inform the public about the real situation of thefive Cuban men jailed for fighting terrorism./
