Madrid, Oct 13 (Prensa Latina) Spanish artist Paco Bernal Gil and the Camilo Cienfuegos Friendship with Cuba Association, from Marina Alta, Valencia, have published a calendar to collect funds for the cause of the five Cubans imprisoned in the US.
The calendar, with engravings by the artist, was launched Wednesday in the Denia Culture House, during an emotional gathering to the release of Gerardo Hernandez, René González, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, and Ramón Labañino.
All of them were condemned to severe jail terms, including life sentences, for inflitrating terrorist groups in Miami, the organizers informed.
During his visit to Cuba last April, Paco Bernal decided to donate the funds resulting from his famous engravings to the cause of the Cuba Five, as long as they remain in prison.
The
mentioned friendship association indicated Cuban authorities had sent a letter
thanking the artist for his solidarity, adding that Bernal´s calendars
and works are being spread all over Spain.
