The Five Cubans Imprisoned in US Receive Diplomas

Windhoek, Nov 8 (Prensa Latina) The Namibia-Cuba Friendship Association has awarded an honor certificate to the Five Cubans imprisoned in US for fighting terrorism, demanding their speedy release. During a ceremony held in this capital and attended by Namibian students and intellectuals, as well as diplomats from the Caribbean island and members of the Cuban medical brigade, the president of the solidarity association, Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo, highlighted the significance of the event.

The meeting was attended by the Cuban ambassador in Namibia, Cipriano Castro, Cuban doctors in Katatura region, Namibian students and journalists from the main media here.

The Cuban ambassador appreciated the participation by Namibians in the struggle for peace and the release of the Five Cubans antiterrorist fighters.

Castro handed over a T-shirt featuring the Five Cuban heroes and a book on their lives and struggle.
