Samir Kantar, Honorary President of the Lebanese Committee for Solidarity with the Five visited the Ambassador of Cuba and stated against the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States on the Cuban Five.
LEBANON, June 18, 2009. Samir Kantar came today to meet the Cuban Ambassador to speak on his recent stay in Cuba with his wife and his experiences in the Caribbean island, far away in distance but at the same time, very close to his heart since he was suffered imprisonment in Israeli prisons. Samir wished to chronicle their exciting visit to the monument of the unforgettable Guerrillero Heroico and his fallen comrades; his indescribable meeting with the relatives of the Cuban five, which its Solidarity Committee of Lebanon he has the honor of presiding; to remember their walks by the historical center of Old Havana and the blue and green colors of the island where its people works and builds.
But Samir's visit coincided with the decision announced yesterday by the Supreme Court of the United States which refused to accept the case review requested by the defense lawyers and supported by an incredible number of Amicus, including ten Nobel prizes.
Therefore, all memories of the island, its people, the families of the five, Che went to Samir’s mind but not to rememorize the visit with the Ambassador, but to denounce the imperialist hoax, to reiterated his compromise with the Five, as the Committee stated immediately after learning the verdict, asking stronger than ever that the injustice will be repaired and demanding to President Barack Obama to annul sentences.
Samir speak, as usual, loud and clear: Freedom for the five!
