Outstanding Pakistani jurist joins to a campaign in favor of the Cuban Five

PAKISTAN, April 25 2008. The well-known Pakistani jurist, Aitizaz Ashan, president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) of Pakistan, showed his solidarity toward the cause of the Five Heroes when signing a document that demands the immediate freedom of these Cuban fighters against terrorism.

In the same way, Ashan was pronounced by the necessity of denouncing the component of human rights violation on the part of the government of the United States that is coming off of this case, in particular the limitations have faced the Five to see their relatives and how this right has been denied persistently to Rene and Gerardo wives.

lso, Ashan added that he would promote the knowledge and support to this cause inside the lawyers’ movement, which has won in importance due to the latest events that have changed the political scenario in the country.

This initiative is part of signatures’ collection campaign in favor of the Cuban Five that the Pak-Cuba Friendship Association of Lahore is carrying out, which has as objective to sensitize the Pakistani society about the unjust of this case and of the irregularities that have characterized the legal process. The final document with the signatures will be send to the Embassy of the United States in Islamabad and to other North American institutions. (Cubaminrex-Embacuba Pakistán)
