Sit in at the International Red Cross to demand freedom for the lebanese and palestinians prisons in Israel and the Cuban fives at the U.S.A.
On this day marks the thirtieth anniversary of the imprisonment of Samir al Kantar, a young Lebanese arrested in an operation against the Israeli aggressor. The historic sit in was summoned under the action that each year makes the Associations of Relatives of Lebanese Detainees in Prisons in Israel, in front of the headquarters of the International Red Cross in Beirut.
This time, the Lebanese Association invited organizations of solidarity with Cuba to accompany them in the complaint, and neither short nor lazy, attended the event the President of the Lebanese Association of Friendship with Cuba, Mr. Maurice Nahra; the President of the League of Lebanese Graduates from Cuban Institutes and Universities, Dr. Kassem Abboud, and a representation of Cubans residing in Beirut.
As every year, Bassam al Kantar, brother of Samir, delivered to the Representative of the International Red Cross, the letter demanding the release of Samir and all Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners in Israel jails, but this time he add something new which we quote: "Definitely, our struggle for liberation of our Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners in Israel jails is linked to that of Cuban people carry out for the liberation of their Five brothers unjustly detained in U.S. prisons for combating terrorism and therefore here today we have representatives of organizations of solidarity with Cuba and Cubans residing in Lebanon "
